Amber Fort epitomizes the glorious heritage of Jaipur. Carved out of white marble and red sandstone, the fort was built by Raja Man Singh I in 1592. The fort looks rugged from outside but its complex encompasses huge halls, majestic palaces, beautiful temples and gorgeous green gardens. As the fort is atop the hill, one can reach there either by any vehicle or an elephant ride. To add more royalty to your visit opt for an elephant ride. Sit on the howdah( the seat fitted on elephant's back) decorated with colorful ribbons and fitted with cushions for your comfort.
The fort reflects the perfect amalgamation of Hindu and Mughal styles of architecture. The interiors are majestically decorated with mirror work, paintings and carvings. Some of the noteworthy structures inside the fort are Diwan-E-Aam (hall for the public audiences), Shila Mata Temple and Sukh Niwas.
Travel to Jaipur and explore the bewitching Amber fort. A visit to the fort will surely take you back in time to the golden days of raja-maharajas.
