Alternative Power Options For The Future

By:

In this day of rising energy costs it is important for us to explore every option we have available to produce the energy it takes to power our modern world. Solar power addresses the concerns quite well because it uses sunlight for generating energy, which is available free, and it is harmless to the environment. Understand that, within 10 years, solar, wind and nuclear energy will be widely available, helping America enjoy multiple sources of energy, still including petroleum products.

Simply put photovoltaic tiles and other forms of solar energy work by converting some of the energy in sunlight into a clean form of electricity that can be used in our houses. Energy efficient mortgages came to be because of a nudge from the government to lenders in an effort to promote the use of solar energy as a power source. One of the major milestones achieved in the solar power technology is the invention of photovoltaic cells.

If you decide to power your house with a solar electric system, you will receive FREE power from the sun, once your system is paid for. School buses run lots of lights that warn motorists that kids will be crossing and all these lights could be run from solar power or from solar power assisted batteries. Of course, solar power is, in a sense, the source of many of our other forms of power, as well.

Solar energy makes sense for so many reasons and thanks to the top universities, presidential initiatives and the many research and development centers across the country solar power is making strides. As the world looks to alternative fuel sources to save the environment and money, solar energy has come to the forefront.

Cost efficiency & economy Eskom South Africa provides our country with some of the cheapest conventional unsustainable electricity costs in the world, and that is the main reason for solar energy technology not taking off in South Africa. In conclusion, the use of solar power in South Africa isn't that far fetched when one look at the very appropriate weather conditions and the need to look at a more sustainable and renewable energy source for the future. Well, I, for one, think that the time has just about come for solar energy to really take off because of one reason: it will be economically the right and smart thing to do.

Although it's far easier to achieve passive solar energy for homes during the planning stage, you can incorporate many of these elements into an established house without spending a great deal of money or time. Electricity is supplied firstly from the solar energy system, then the connected battery if one has been installed and finally from the grid if there is still a need.

A solar energy panel collects energy from the sunlight and converts it into direct current (DC) electricity. In 20 the century Albert Einstein was the one who research the generation of electricity through solar cells.
