Alps Resorts In Austria

By:

Regardless of the fact that it is a small nation, Austria is one of the prosperous countries on Earth, with high figures of income per citizen. For the travel business, Austria is a real goldmine, primarily thanks to the marvelous Alps, the mountains that occupy about 3 quarters of the country's total surface. Yet, not just the mountains are important here... The capital, Vienna, is regarded as one of the prettiest capitals on earth. Located on the banks of the famous river Danube, this is quite an incredible city, with awesome buildings like the the four Gasometers, City Hall, Parliament, Opera house, and other magnificent sights.

But lets see how Austrians made use of the wonders of the Alps to create a flourishing travel industry. You'll discover there are many ski resorts and golf resorts in Austria, and every year myriads of foreigners choose to spend the summer and winter holidays there, thanks to the fact that the infrastructure is great, you can find lodges, motels and hotels almost everywhere, the Austrians are amiable and polite (although they do incline to keep a distance at first), and, if somebody makes reservations in advance, costs are quite low for such standards.

A great destination for golf lovers and skiers alike is the town of Salzburg. It is a relatively small town, with a population of approximately 150 thousand residents, but it is simply wonderful. Forget the fact that it is the birthplace of one of humanity's music masterminds, the great Mozart... Travelers visit Salzburg because it is found at the northern extremity of the great Alps, and it is in this region that they can find the best ski and golf resorts. Eye-popping views, good food and traditional beer – Salzburg is one of the top cities in Europe. This city is also famous for the epic Music Festival that is being held between July and August each year. Also, they have a smaller Easter Festival annually.

Going for a ski holiday in Austria in the winter is a favorite pastime for a lot of tourists, especially men and women from Holland, Spain, the Czech Republic, Romania and the UK. Top ski resorts are Grand Tirolia, Innsbruch, Gerlos, Ellmau and Obertauern. Found in several parts of the country, these resorts are well known for their tens, or even hundreds of kilometers of ski courses (for professionals and beginners alike), and for their attractive rates and services. Many are located close to colorful communities, which are quite interesting to visit.
