Asthma is not an foreign condition to the world of medicine. Out of all classes of asthmatic conditions one could face, allergic asthma is the most common.Astonishingly, it is evident that 90% of kids are prone to allergic asthma and there are about 50% adults who already suffer.

It is standard to hear individuals asking the question; is allergic asthma a different form of the same disease? the answer is two-fold. Yes it is a form of asthma and it is also the most common form. So when individuals say; I m having an asthma attack , they'd be likely referring to allergic asthma.

What distinguishes allergic asthma from other types? In allergic asthma, allergens are involved, big time. They are the ones who play their role behind the curtain and trip asthma attacks. Common allergy triggers are pollen, dust, mites, moulds and even animal fur. Now you know why doctors suggested against having dogs or cats in the house if your kid is prone to allergic asthma!

Apart from those standard allergens, almost each person suffering with asthma also battles after being open to cold air, being open to smoke and fumes. At time, asthma can be tripped by even the smallest things that we do not take critical. As an example, smell of a strong purfume is just adequate for tripping an attack. So if you have any asthmatics around the house, you should be extremely mindful!

Now that we know what allergens are, let's try to figure out what an allergy is. You know what a great job your body does at protecting you against alien substances that try to invade your body? Well, the body has its own natural immune system to combat against these foreign forces. But what happens during an allergy is that the body misidentifies innocent things such as pollen and dust to be foreign invaders. Therefore, even before you could think about it, your body would have started battling off with it. This is the ground of allergic asthma.

The airways are hypersensitive in people who suffer from allergic asthma. Therefore, when allergens get in to the airways, the immunity system will jump start to its combat mode and you will have allergic asthma symptoms.

The most standard allergic asthma symptoms include wheezing, coughing, breathing quickly, shortness of breath and tight chest. So if you ever start feeling this way while walking on the road, or rushing to an interview, you should have medication to support you up. Frequently, the doctors recommend you to use an inhaler that will take the asthma symptoms from you.
