All You Need To Do, Is Start

Originally I wrote this for aspiring models who wanted to get stated in the industry, but if you take out the specifics this can apply to anything you want to accomplish.

Want to be a model? It can take more than just a pretty face to be successful in the modelling industry. Here is a bunch of tips to help you get organised and motivated.

1. Start a blank document and save it as your to-do-list. ( I use notepad because its instant to load and gets frequent use)

2. Start writing a list of goals that you want to accomplish, in this case say "get a modelling job", "travel" etc... Then sort them in order of Priority, also consider if one goal would be better to complete before another in order to stream line overall work done.

3. Under each goal, make a list of as many things you can think of, on how to accomplish your goal, this may include "research" if your not sure what to do. eg. make a list of people to contact, more research (as you do more research you bound to come across additional items for your list, add them straight away, that way there no chance of forgetting them), photos to submit to agencies etc...

Make a Heading called "Today" and every thing in your list that can be started today, place under this header. and the remainder under Headings of what day they can be done. eg. Call agencies under Monday as they are normally closed on weekends. Then sort your list under "Today" in order of priority. At any time if you think of anything new, ad to your list and rearrange you priorities.

4. Just work your way down your list from top to bottom, Don't be shy, procrastinate or unconfident. If you spend every spare moment of your time focusing what's on top of your list your bound to be successful in what ever you do.

I'm constantly using my to do list, and it's always seem to get bigger, it is currently about 3 pages long though the today section is only about 10 lines. Every week I make an effort to read through the whole list and prioritize it, sometimes I'll drop things out, or move them to the bottom of the page after having time to consider them more closely.
