All Things Are Better When Mini

By:

Size matters if you believe all the hype that is around at present, whether it is cars, technological equipment or the size of our bank accounts, it seems that we are all obsessed with size, whether it is the pursuit of all things small or the admiration of the larger than life objects that we as humans have created.

I'm personally obsessed with size in both forms, I was absolutely amazed when the new Airbus A380 was released, aeroplanes interest me anyway, but the sheer size and dimensions of the plane were staggering, it was effectively a double decker plane. How can anything that big with that much weight get off the ground at all let alone soar at 30,000 feet. There was nothing small about the project even the seats for the customers were large compared to their regular counterparts.

At the same time I can appreciate mini technology, they can now manufacturer Gigabytes of data onto items the size of a fountain pen, the sheer mechanics that has to go into creating something like this must be mind boggling.

There have been a number of things that over the years that have all used the term mini some with great deals of success, while others have fallen by the side of the road. The mini skirt was a huge hit in the sixties and seventies and has recently returned to form in the fashion stakes with young women up and down the country wowing the crowds with their style.

Another successful Mini was the car. Originally released in 1969 it was just as popular then as it is today as the new version created under the banner of mighty BMW brand has rejuvenated the love of the classic car.

Every year there are several special events scheduled for the car including the London to Brighton run, which is attended by thousands of eager enthusiasts from around the UK.

The old car was simplicity at its best, if you opened the car's bonnet you would be confronted with a simple engine which literally anybody could learn to tweak with through various manuals. The modern day car is a lot more complex with a host of electronic systems features that help to make the ride more comfortable and accommodating for the roads of today.

They say that good things come in little packages and with the Mini that truly is the case.
