Fly-in Lodges

The Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge is located close to Homer on a beach in Kachemak Bay State Park. This is an eco-friendly lodge that runs on wind and hydro power. Its five cabins are rustic but still offer guests running water, electricity and toilets. Three meals, served family-style in the main lodge, are included with your room rate.

Boat-in Lodge
Guests to the only lodge in Kenai Fjords National Park will start their journey to their accommodations via a four- to five-hour boat tour that will allow them to enjoy the park's glaciers and wildlife up close. Upon arrival at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge, guests will be housed in one of 16 cabins, all with views of the Pedersen Glacier. Cabins have electricity, private baths and views of the lagoon; room rates include meals. The lodge also offers guided canoe and sea kayaking trips.

Lodges for Bear Viewing
If you are interested in seeing Alaska's world-famous salmon run and the bears that come to feast on the bounty, stay in a lodge in the Katmai National Park area. The Katmai Wilderness Lodge offers guaranteed bear sightings when you stay with them. The lodge's rooms each feature private bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers and baths. Meals, sport fishing, kayaking and round-trip transportation by float plane are all included with your room rate.

Lodges near Denali
The Princess Wilderness Lodge sits on the banks of the Nenana River and is located only one mile from the entrance to Denali National Park and Preserve. The rooms feature a television and telephone, and the lodge has hot tubs where guests can enjoy soaking while taking in views of Denali National Park and the Nenana River. The Princess Wilderness Lodge has several dining facilities, including a pub, on site. Shuttle service is provided by the lodge to the Denali National Park Visitors Center for $5, as of 2011.
