Akiles Wiremac 2:1 / 3:1 Twin-loop Wire Binding Machine Review

By:

The Akiles WireMac twin loop wire binding machine, from ABCOffice.com is a popular model among binding machine users because of its simple operation and its quality of document binding. As a result of this, the Akiles WireMac is often used in the offices of corporations, marketing companies, printers, churches, schools, or other organizations to produce high-grade documents, manuscripts, reports, proposals, journals, spiral notebooks, ledgers, grade books and other documents.

This wire binding machine is built for heavy-duty, high-output production. The Akiles WireMac has operating features that are designed to more efficiently accommodate the project being bound. One such feature is the side margin control that is able to contain sheets of paper with a 14 inch width, and maintain hole punch consistency throughout a project.

The Akiles WireMac twin loop wire binder is available in two different models, based on the hole punch ratio. The WireMac 2:1 model has a 2 holes per inch pitch, and the WireMac 3:1 has a 3 hoes per inch pitch. Operating the Akiles WireMac Twin-Loop Wire Binding Machine is the same regardless of the model chosen.

The binding machine operator inserts the stack of paper to be bound into the hole-punch feed in the binding machine. The user then adjusts the side margins. The binding machine can generally handle a sheet with a width up to 14 inches, but the open ends can be used to feed oversized pages if necessary. The operator then presses down on the punch handle, which penetrates the dies through the paper creating the 3:1 or 2:1 pitched holes. The punch dies are able to be disengaged to match the size of the paper being punched.

Once the holes are set in the all the pages of the document, the machine operator uses the built-in wire selector, inserter and closer to complete the binding process. Like most heavy-duty twin-loop wire binding machines, the Akiles WireMac has a maximum hole punching capacity of 20 sheets of paper per punch. Attempting to punch through more than 20 sheets at a time can increase the wear and tear on the machine, and reduce its overall performance. Though its hole punching capacity is comparable to other twin-loop binding machine models, the Akiles WireMac sets itself apart by being able to bind documents that are 1 1/4 inch in thickness.

The WireMac is manufactured by Akiles Products, Inc, a California based company. Since 1993, Akiles Products has been manufacturing and distributing some of the best-selling binding and laminating equipment available on the market.

Along with the performance specs, there is a lot to like about the Akiles WireMac if youre looking to purchase a new binding machine. The WireMac has a dependably high quality output. It is also very intuitive to operate, which makes it ideal for experienced operators or first time users. Its metal construction is rugged enough to provide years of use, ensuring the purchaser will get a solid return on their purchase investment.
