Affiliate Marketing Potential

By: wealthbuilder1

Over the past few years, Internet Marketing has grown even bigger than it used to be. With more companies realising the huge potential of reaching a worldwide market, and falling over themselves in getting into the Affiliate Marketing business and enjoying the many extra benefits it can give them.

Consequently Affiliate Marketing has grown proportionally to meet the demand, with millions of independent websites going on line with the view to grabbing their slice of the Billion Dollar Internet Pie

Affiliate marketing is when a third party becomes an associate or an 'affiliate', to the Merchant, and agrees to promote the Companies’ product as an independent agent, on an agreed 'commission only' basis, should a sale be made by their efforts

This is a win-win situation for both parties. The benefit for the Merchant is that he gains an unlimited sales force with no up front costs, and can reach a wider audience that perhaps was within their scope

One the other hand, the affiliate is not responsible for the product, receiving payment, after sales or customer service. Their sole responsibility is sending potential customers directly to the Merchants website, or via their own website.

This is a great opportunity for people considering getting into to Affiliate Marketing as a way of supplementing their existing income, or even making a full time business out of it.

Over 38 million people have put up their very first websites online in 2008 alone. It is estimated the Internet sales industry will top the one billion dollar bank. And to think, majority of those sites will be offering different affiliate programs for people to choose and participate into.

There are simply thousands of Affiliate programs to choose from that the difficulty in finding the right one for them is not a problem anymore.

Support will be the number one consideration for people when choosing an affiliate program. There are many merchants out there that not only offer a high commission, 60% to 70%, but also include advertising aids, such as banners, sales copy, emails, and even reviews and articles to help promoter their product or service. Also many offer training and incentives for affiliates with the highest sales.

One advantage of becoming an affiliate is that the merchant does not hold exclusive rights to their services. The Affiliate is free to pick and choose who they wish to represent and for how long.

In the event that the affiliate is not making much money despite all their efforts, they have the right to leave that particular program and look for another. That is not to say that one particular affiliate program is better than the other, But if the marketing strategy is the same for both, there is no use in trying to stick to one when they would be before off in another one that converts to higher sales and commissions

There are a lot of niche markets out there just waiting for the right affiliate to penetrate them and make that dollars dream come true. Knowing which one to get into is being confident enough of their potentials and the good results they will be getting.

Good luck with your Affiliate Marketing
