Write a short description about your affiliate marketing product and dont forget to put in your link. The link usually needs to be a real web address, with no extensions. You can accomplish that by creating a tinyURL from your affiliate link, which you will get when signing up as an affiliate. You can also re-direct your affiliate link to a page in your web site.

Many article directories allow you to use your affiliate links, though. Read the rules carefully when signing up as an author.
