Adversity Doesn't Have To Eat You Alive

By:

Recently in the news we have heard several reports about people who have gone through different types of abuse years ago and have suffered for so many years. They have never found a way to heal from these things. Then there are those that are on talk shows that talk about how their parents were doing drugs throughout their whole life and they got caught up in the same drug scene and couldn't figure out how to escape it. For others they have come from parents that are big stars and they have seen different struggles in their own lives. It has been a big thing in the news from some losing their lives and others choosing very rough lives to even ending up in jail.

These are things that are seen in the news and are the obvious challenges that many face, but for many they face several of their own personal challenges and adversity. You might be thinking that you are not a big star, but if you were and had all of their money that your adversity would be gone. Then there are the stars who might wishing they would have stayed in the quiet life and not had all of the attention and would give up all of the money they have acquired. For many they think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence and spend their life feeling lost and hopeless hoping to eventually get to the other side of the fence.

The first thing to recognize is that your adversity is real and that you can overcome it. You don't have to keep hoping that life will change someday and feel like that someday will never come. It can come and it is all within you to do that. Don't let that overwhelm you. It can be as simple as taking one step at a time and it can even be baby steps.

It can be getting up a little earlier in the morning and stepping outside and getting a little sun. Then it is making a small commitment and fulfilling that commitment. It is also important to acknowledge your feelings and process them. It doesn't have to come all at once. Some want to run from their feelings because it could be too much. It doesn't have to be that way. You can process things as you are ready to process them, but the important part is to feel empowered and start moving forward instead of backward.

Overcoming adversity can be hard, but in the end can become the best thing you ever did. You will find it so rewarding and be amazed at what lies ahead.
