(Network Marketing, Direct Selling)
Even if you suck

This is Michael Roy Gardner II of Team Royalty, and Ive had the pleasure of being in Network Marketing and Direct Selling for over 10 years. During this time Ive seen people come and go, Ive seen people get wealthy beyond their wildest dreams, Ive seen people leave the industry with fond memories and Ive seen people leave the industry so bitter that theyll never look at another MLM company no matter what. This lead me to do some thinking on all the things Im thankful for as a result of being in this industry. I realized that some of them dont have anything at all to do with the fact that; I dont work a full-time job, my fianc doesnt work a full-time job, my son never had to go to daycare and has both of his parents at home, I can lend money to family when they need it, I dont have any stress about the economy, I never worry about losing my job, I can get a raise anytime I feel like it, I can stop working and money would still come in, etc.

I realized that there are a lot of advantages to MLM even if youre not really good at it. I decided to put together a short list of things that may be able to help you recruit people that are on the fence, may help you get off the fence if youre considering Networking as a career, or may keep you in the business long enough to get good at it and start making the big bucks. Well here goes

Reason number 1
You may make a new circle of friends

How many new friends do you have? Probably not very many, most people have the same friends that they made 5-20 years ago. You met them at a certain point in your life; well you may not still be at that point, so isnt it time to add some new friends to the mix? Hopefully your friends have developed and matured at the exact same rate that you have, but they probably didnt, which means they may have no desire to do or be more than they are right now. When you announce to them what youre doing they may be supportive, but they may put you down for trying to improve, because they know if you improve, itll expose the fact that they arent willing to. Dont give up on your goals to save your friendships, realize that you can keep these friends and still enjoy the same things that you always have (unless its a destructive habit). Just know that you are now a part of a team of people that have similar interests and dreams to do and be more. A common saying is that your income is a direct reflection of the 5 people you spend the most time with, so be careful. As you are on your path to wealth and once you become wealthy, you need to have people around you that you can bounce ideas off and develop strategies with. I have created tons of great relationships with people I never would have met if it were not for MLM, and some have become lifelong friends. Ive even seen people meet the love of their life through this industry.



Reason number 2
Tax incentives

Nothing in life is certain except death and taxes I think that says it all. So now that you know the game that youre in, its time to learn the rules. How can you expect to win a NBA Championship if you dont know the rules of basketball? You cant expect to win, and any time you open your mouth and say that you expect to win the Championship, you would be lying. So why is wealth any different? It isnt, you cant expect to be wealthy unless you know the rules, and any time you open your mouth and say that you expect to become wealthy, you would be lying. So, you can keep lying to yourself, your friends, and your kids or you can start learning the rules. The tax advantages to owning your own business are huge. Daily activities such as travel, talking on the phone, entertainment, etc. can all be legitimate tax breaks. (Notice I said legitimate, the government will eat your lunch if theyre not) Let me give you some great examples; going out to eat with your spouse who is also your business partner could be a strategy session instead of a date. Buying your mom, who is a customer, a Christmas present, could be a customer appreciation gift. Vacation can really be business expansion if you do some prospecting and meetings. Make sure you consult your tax advisor or visit www.irs.gov in order to stay out of prison for being too creative. Think of the possibilities; if you earn $50k per year and pay 30% thats roughly $15k in taxes, what if you could write off $10k in tax deductions that would save you about $3,000.00 in taxes. Even if you suck at MLM the tax breaks make it worth while.

Reason number 3
MLM trains you on M.L.M.

When you join a quality Direct Sales company, youll get access to an entire training system. Youll have at-home study courses, extensive audio, video and book resources, training and motivational seminars and conference calls. You will have experienced mentors with the time and inclination to help you succeed. Most people think this training will only help them become successful in Network Marketing, but the truth is that it can and will help you in all areas of your life. You will learn M.L.M. Mindset, Leadership, and Marketing. These are the skills it takes to be successful in corporate America as well as in traditional business. You will see that the MLM trains you on building relationships; youll be able to use these skills at work, and at home. You can become a leader in the community since youll now know how to motivate and lead people. Youll get access to some of the most successful people in the country and theyll share with you the books and things they went through to get where they are. You can use MLM to help you improve every aspect of your life.

Reason number 4
The fact is, you can make money while having fun and helping people

Even if you dont make a ton of money in Network Marketing you can still turn a profit by having fun and helping people. To me this makes the business worth while. The only way you make money in good company is by helping someone save money, improve their life, or make money. I love knowing that if I want to make more money I have to help more people. Work in this industry often includes being on high energy calls with a lot of excited, motivated people. It can also include weekly meeting that are filled with the same positive people, entertaining speakers, high energy music, and lots of recognition. Not to mention the National Trainings that most companies have; you get to get away from the stress of your everyday life for 3-4 days, travel to a city youve probably never been to, and have a non-stop party all while meeting new people and getting trained on how to become more successful in business and in life.

Reason number 5
Even a little extra money can make you wealthy

Say you make $50,000 a year. That works out to roughly $1,000 a week (before taxes). We all know about paying yourself first, but most people just dont do it, after taxes, groceries, rent, utilities etc. how much is really left over? For some its just a few bucks, enough to get them to the next paycheck, for others its nothing. Millions of people are living above their means, using credit cards and home equity loans. What if you were able to earn an extra $500-$1000 per month? What if you used that money to pay off your debt and your mortgage? How much would that save you in interest over your life? Once the debt was gone, or while youre paying it off, what if you began paying yourself first and investing? Network Marketing allows you to start earning the additional income that can make you wealthy, let me give you some examples; Starting at age 40, if you save $333 per month, (which you can make even if you suck at MLM) in an IRA that earned an annual return of 10% by the time you were 65, youd have a nest egg worth nearly $442,000. If you were able to put $125 per week into a tax-deferred retirement account at age 25 with an average return of 10% youd have nearly $3.3 million at retirement age.
