Fiber channel is commonly known as FC is a gigabit speed network cable of technology mostly used as a storage networking system. Most of the time these fiber channel is the standardize version and being used by the T11 Technical Committee of the International Committee of Information Technology Standards or INCITS.

Most of these super cables are used in supercomputer field at that time and with the progress of technology, the standard connection type of storage area networks or SAN in enterprise storage has come into age and with par with fiber cable. The Arbitrated loop or the FC-AL is design to be more or a loop or a ring like a token ring network makes the connection one point to another different. It comes with two ports with different protocol setting with a pair of ports directly into one loop with the maximum speed of 8G per minute of data and information transfer.

The Switched fabric of the FC-SW version is different with all devices or loops are connected easily and effectively to the fiber channel switches in which it is compared to a modern Ethernet where the advantage of these fabrics is that it could be control easily with a switch with full optimized interconnections and any transfer of information and data is between the switches only to these ports without effecting other ports as it is an individual and independent ports and it could work out at the same rate and pace even while running on several ports all at the same time.
