Adelaide is the capital of the South Australian state of Australia. The city offersa great mix of modern comfort and the traditional feel of a country village. It is located in the Fleurieu Peninsula and is stretched between the waters of the St Vincent Gulf and the Mount Lofty Ranges. Due to its location the entire region is renowned its wines. The wines from Clare Valley, McLaren Vale and especially the ones made in the Barossa Valley are quite well known to many wine connoisseurs from around the world.

The city has a large international airport that runs flights coming and going to places scattered all over the continent and the entire world. Once arrived at the airport, you can take a bus or a cab to get to your hotel in no time.

The fastest way to get to Adelaide, besides by plane, is to embark on one of the cross-country trains. Direct links from Sydney, Perth, and Melbourne will grant you a fast and comfortable way to travel to Adelaide. The Metropolitan Train is also available for short travels within Adelaide City.

The most convenient and exciting way to get to Adelaide is to rent a car from Melbourne or Sydney and drive there on one of the National Australian Highways. You can also get there by train and use one of the local car renting services to get a car for traveling inside the city or anywhere within the entire South Australia state.

Inside the city area there are numerous bus lines as well as a great number of cabs that can take you to any part of the city.

One of the best sites to visit and enjoy is the Glenelg beaches. The Glenelg district of Adelaide is the most visited district in the city. Tourists can enjoy a variety of beach activities from diving to jet-skiing to sunbathing or yachting. Next to the beaches, you will find The Beachouse which is an amusement park that kids will enjoy. You can also enjoy family time at the Warrawong Sanctuary. This wildlife reserve manages to preserve the natural beauty of the environment. A visit to the Sanctuary is a great chance for kids to learn about nature and for parents to enjoy a nice day off. Some of the most unknown and interesting animal species are housed here. The Tree Kangaroo, Bettong, Quoll, Platypus, and even the Bilby are some of the animals that you will see during a trip there. The Warrawong Sanctuary also offers a wide variety of services to visitors ranging from dinner and lunch to animal shows and even night tours.

Another great place to visit if you like to see native Australian animals is the Cleland Conservation Park. Here you can spot the Kangaroo, the Koala, the Emu, and even the voracious Tasmanian Devil.

While visiting Adelaide it is best to bring the whole family and kids with you. Get a nice room in a family oriented motel and start exploring the city from there. The sun, the sea, and the wildlife will make you want to spend your entire life in this corner of Australia.
