Add Power To Your Golf Swing

By:

Many untrained players have a tendency to attempt hitting harder and swing beyond their personal physical capabilities that actually result in the loss of accuracy and distance.

Gaining Golf Swing Flexibility

Often many untrained golfers when facing a long par five feel the need to attempt a cannon-type shot that will place them in the fairway so they can hit the green in two. So, a bigger backswing initiates and a downswing hammers up. But, what usually happens? The ball doesn't fly any farther plus it more than likely doesn't go straight either. What happened here is the player tried swinging well beyond what their body was capable for handling. Golf swig flexibility was not enough to exact a big swing connecting with a minimum amount of tension produced. Many amateur golfers suffer from "big swing syndrome" due to a lack of proper golf swing flexibility. If getting to this optimum point in a swing cannot be accomplished, it makes no matter how hard a player tries to swing. Maximum power and distance using the driver off the tee will never be attained, Muscle tension actual slows the club head down.

Try Golf Stretching Exercises

It is imperative for every level of play that golfers participate in stretching exercises that concentrate on the muscles used during a swing, especially during the backswing. These are muscles in the back and the lead shoulder - the lat muscle - and all core rotation muscles. Unfortunately, no matter what is heard about golf being the "universal" game everyone can play, adding power to a driver swing means a player must stay behind the ball when making impact. This is extremely challenging for a player who is physically out of shape, if not totally impossible. Possessing core strength to rotate the body during a driver swing is extremely crucial when looking to add real power to the swing. The downswing consists of the first move being a lower body rotation - not a slide.

Lower Body Rotation is Necessary

The lower body rotation occurs while the upper body stays back for a nano-second that placed a great deal of demand on a player's core body strength. If an individual's core golf strength is too weak, producing an effective downswing will be impossible with the result usually hitting over the top creating a slice. Although there are many theories purporting a variety of methods trying to avoid this situation, success will not come without strengthening and stretching muscles needed in activity off the course. This can be addressed using a golf weight training device and employing a stretching and strengthening routine.

Every exercise should focus toward producing strength and flexibility because no matter how many tens of thousands of practice balls hit, using the same body strength producing the same swing will never get that extra distance off the tee.
