Add More Creativity To Your Page By Making Your Own Embellishments, Backgrounds And Tags

By:

You have just created a great layout for your scrapbook but it is missing something. It needs just a small piece of pizzazz so you start sifting through your box of embellishments only to find that you have nothing to match your theme. But do not worry because you can easily make your own embellishment by using one of your rubber stamps.

This may sound strange at first, but hang in there, as the results will be amazing. Find a rubber stamp that has a design that will match your theme. Stamp the image onto a piece of cardstock and then you can simply cut it out and decorate it! You can use anything you wish including glitter, beads, ribbon and anything else you have sitting around. This is actually a great technique for those times that you just cannot find an embellishment that will suit your layout. When all else fails, create you own.

This technique is a great way to add variety to an album that has a reoccurring theme. Instead of using the same store bought embellishments, you can simply make your own with the use of your collection of rubber stamps. Of course, if you do not have a stamp set that matches what you want you will surely be able to purchase one. Plus, it will be more cost effective because you can reuse the stamps over and over to continue creating more embellishments in contrast to purchasing a stack of pre-made embellishments that you can only use once. Once you have your stamp set ready, you should also gather a variety of ink colors as well as embossing products, beads, pens, wire, ribbon, glitter and anything else that you can incorporate. The great part about this is you can make each embellishment look slightly different while still remaining on the same overall theme.

Keep in mind, there is no need to limit yourself when you are using rubber stamps. You can also make tags in the shape of your overall theme by stamping the design and cutting it out. You could also take a simple-shaped tag then stamp on it with your stamp set and apply embossing products as desired. Do not stop there either. You can even use this method to make your own background pages.

When creating your own embellishments, tags or backgrounds with the use of rubber stamps, the opportunities are endless. Keep your mind open to new ideas and continue creating new designs. There is no need to mass-produce the same thing over and over. Use creativity to add a unique touch of spice to each page.
