Acne Treatment - How To Treat Acne At Home

By:

I used to be like you. Young, full of life, and most importantly: ready to take on the world. I also used to have the same problems as you and most of the people your same age. I remember looking all over the internet trying to figure out how to cure acne quickly at home.

Orange peel is highly effective in curing acne scars. Just mix orange peel with water and make a paste. Apply it to your face twice or thrice a week. It will not only help you get rid of acne scars but will also help your skin revert back to its natural pigment.

The success of such home remedies, however, varies from person to person. While they can be highly effective for you, they might not be as effective for someone else.

Lemon is a great ingredient for fighting against acne. Our skin is prone to acne breakouts when it tends toward the acidic state. Lemon can alkalize our body when eaten. It also contains a huge dose of Vitamin C, which can help your skin to heal faster.

It is suggested to drink a lot of water, and this is a simple home remedy for acne which keeps the system of the body healthy and clean. Body wastes and toxins gather in the kidneys, skin, lungs and bowels and these are inter-dependent on each other for proper functioning. Any disorder will lead to severe acne. In order to avoid such situations, it is recommended to consume at least 6 to 8 glasses of water everyday to manage these systems effectively.

Lets look at oatmeal for a little bit. Oatmeal is dry, hence you have to mix it with water in order to cook it, if not you could just eat it out of the box, right? So, oatmeal soaks up water. When you put it on your face, it starts to dry out. As it dries out, it sucks up everything that is around it. Be it water, oil, dirt, dead skin, bacteria...whatever it is. This is called ex-foliating your skin. Getting all the bad, nasty stuff off your face and out of your pores. This is what every mask on the market is trying to do. Oatmeal does a great job at this. But, this is only half of the equation. The other important part is honey.

Load up on Vitamin C supplement. This vitamin can help to give your immune system a boost and help to keep acne at bay. If you have adequate vitamin C, it can also help to give your skin the required glow that makes it more beautiful.

Use over-the-counter products with benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl peroxide is a very good home remedy for acne because it breaks up the plugs of dead skin cells, bacteria, and oil in your pores. You may want to start out by using a lotion with a low concentration of benzoyl peroxide, such as 2.5 or 5 percent. If your acne does not improve within four to six weeks, you may want to try a 10 percent lotion or gel.
