Acne Skin Care Products For Oily Skin

By:

Acne skin care products for people with oily skin should be different from those used by people with sensitive, dry or even normal skin. Among the types of skin, oily is the one most prone to pimples. This is because the excess oil produced contributes to pore clogging, creating a place for bacteria to thrive.

Some acne skin care products are highlighted below and tips on how to care for oily skin prone to zits are provided.

1) Keeping the skin clean. This is the first step that people with oily or greasy skin should remember. The face should always be kept clean by washing it three times a day. A facial cleanser that is not based on oil, combined with warm water, should be the preferred cleansing regimen.

2) Cosmetics. Although it is advisable not to use any makeup, there are some of us who cannot do without cosmetics. If one prefers to wear makeup, then water-based ones are the most appropriate for oily skin. Facial powder can also help keep the skin free of oil throughout the day. When choosing your cosmetics, chose those that have oil-free and non-clogging tags on their containers.

3) Maintenance products. When trying to get rid of pimples, one option that people with oily skin can explore is using facial masks. These masks help strip skin of excess oil. However, facial masks with strong formulas should never be used since it could cause skin to dry. Ideally, masks should be used twice a week if you have oily skin. Contrary to some claims, moisturizers are also needed by people with oily skin. There are moisturizing products that are oil-free and are specifically designed for people with oily skin.

4) Natural remedies. When it comes to natural treatment, fruit juices or plant extracts are the best for oily skin. Lemon juice and Aloe vera can be used as astringent if one prefers natural facial care solutions. These two can also be combined with oat meal or crushed tomatoes to make a facial mask. Whether you prefer to use a natural formula of astringent or facial mask, leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse off with warm water.

5) Topical treatments. For greasy skin, the most appropriate zit-zappers are topical creams that contain benzoyl peroxide or Alpha hydroxy acids. Formulas that contain salicylic acid are also recommended to some patients. However, caution should be exercised when using salicylic acid and a discussion with a dermatologist is suggested before opting for these products since they could cause skin-drying when used excessively.

Acne skin care products for oily skin should be chosen with care. Remember that greasy skin is more prone to pimples than any other type. Keeping oil at bay will greatly help in preventing zits from appearing.
