Abu Dhabi Launches New Campaign To Attract Golfers

A new initiative has been launched in Abu Dhabi to boost the number of golf players heading to the United Arab Emirate to enjoy golfing holidays.

The new Golf in Abu Dhabi campaign has been designed to promote the regions lucrative golf tourism segment which includes luxury Abu Dhabi hotels and golf clubs that offer great golfing experiences for golf-tastic Abu Dhabi holidays.

The initiative is being led by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) and it has been developed in partnership with stakeholders, golf clubs, management companies and Abu Dhabi hotels.

The emirates golf tourism sector is said to be worth $17 million annually and the initiative will be launched in key source markets such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, Scandinavia Germany, France, China, Korea and Japan.

Travellers taking Abu Dhabi holidays will be able to choose from several golf courses including the 18-hole country course at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club; a floodlit, nine-hole urban course at Abu Dhabi City Golf Club; and the 18-hole sand course at Al Ghazal Golf Club.

Golf in Abu Dhabi will provide attractive rates at three championship golf courses in the emirate: Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, Abu Dhabi Golf Club (ADGC) and Yas Links Golf Club. Golfers can also choose from a number of add-ons including flights, hotels and ground transport.

Dayne Lim, the product development director of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, said: Golf in Abu Dhabi will ensure that all of our relevant stakeholders work towards a collective objective, which is capturing the emirate a bigger slice of the global gold tourism market.

Our goal now is to entice the worlds amateur players by leveraging the destinations diversity of playing options and our other, multi-faceted tourism assets.

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and a popular destination for festivals, sporting events and shopping. The emirate recently hosted the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula 1 race and visitors can visit enjoy a varied number of attractions during business trips or leisure holidays in Abu Dhabi, including the beautiful Sheikh Zayed Mosque, Khalifa Park, the waterfront, the Marina Mall and the Abu Dhabi Mall. The vibrant city boasts luxury hotel chains, lavish shopping malls and boutiques, lush green parks and golden sandy beaches.
