The truth of the matter is that the day that above ground pools are completed being installed, the danger factor in each backyard that they are sitting in increases exponentially. Is a Fence All That You Need?

Of course a fence is required in all municipalities but you're really kidding yourself if you think that a fence is completely adequate. If you implement just one other security measure, you would be well advised to buy and use a folding ladder. They don't cost a whole lot more than a standard pool ladder and they do make a good last line of defense. However; do be aware that they won't stop, the determined young intruder.

Good quality covers on above ground pools are truly multi-taskers. They keep debris from blowing in the water and they help the pool to retain heat. However; as a security measure they are fantastic and really do make your pool so much safer during winter months.

You see winter months are when above ground pools will tend to freeze over and become even more dangerous. Kids are drawn to a frozen body of water like bees to honey and they have little comprehension of how weak the ice can be. A frozen pool can swallow a child in seconds.
