Each of these models is an upgraded version over the previous one and each model is differentiated with minor changes. These changes were made in the software as well as the hardware aspects. Sometimes the camera was improved, a stylish and sleek look was introduced, the screen resolution was changed, but a software update was common to each version.

Just like for BlackBerry Bold phones, different models in the BlackBerry Curve phones are also available. These versions are chronologically named as the BlackBerry Curve 8300 series, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 series, the BlackBerry Curve 8500 series, the BlackBerry Curve 9300 series and the BlackBerry Curve 9350 series. A problem regarding network reception through Wi-Fi and 3G has been observed in the first version, which is the Curve 8300 series. However, this shortcoming was rectified in the models to come and users are happy with the later series.

The prices of BlackBerry phones are affordable for most users, but they can also be obtained as free cell phones. The concept of free cell phones is that you pay a minimum amount at the time of your purchase, sign a contract with a service provider, and then use it for the time frame that you need it. These deals make it easier for users who do not have enough money in hand to own a cell phone. When the BlackBerry phones were introduced to the market, most believed that they were the best choice for business uses. However, with the passing of time, it becomes popular among groups of different users. This is due to the advanced features BlackBerry phones incorporate, and they are appropriate for both business and entertainment while at the same time being quite easy to operate.
