Abnormal Ovarian Cyst Are A Warning Sign. Treat Them Now

By:

e imbalance of female hormones - progesterone and estrogen can cause abnormal ovarian cyst namely dermoid cyst, endometrioma cyst, cyst adenoma cyst, and "polycystic ovarian disease". Abnormal ovarian cysts are not the same as functional cyst. As you can understand by their name; abnormal growth of cells leads to the formation of these cysts; most of the time these cysts are only benign growths. Research is still going on to ascertain the cause behind these abnormal growths. These cysts generally stay harmless forever without causing any problems. But in some rare cases they might burst and hence lead to immediate surgery. Let us now discuss these ovarian cysts in detail:

Dermoid Cysts

These cysts are filled with various types of tissues including skin and hair. In medical terms, it's a "cystic teratoma" containing mature skin filled with sweat glands and hair follicles, long hair clumps at times and very often, pockets of blood, sebum, cartilage, eyes, teeth, nails, bone, fat and thyroid tissue. Because they're composed of mature tissues, dermoid cysts are almost always benign. However, in rare instances, they turn malignant and "Squamous Cell Carcinoma" develops in adults. In babies and children, it usually leads to the development of "Endodermal Sinus Tumor".

Periorbital Dermoid Cysts

Sometimes these cysts develop in small children, and they usually form near the eyebrow's lateral aspect and have a rubbery feel to them. One has to be careful because disruption of this cyst results in "Inflammatory Reaction". Doctors sometimes just keep a watch on them and sometimes excise them, but there is a possibility of recurrence if the cyst is not excised completely. The trouble is that such complete excision isn't always possible because the cyst could be in a "Dumbbell Configuration" meaning that there is an extension through the skull's suture line.

Cannot Be Equated With Pilonidal Cyst

It may be a problem to distinguish from pilonidal ovarian cyst due to its presence in the nose, sinus, head, under the tongue and other parts. This is because both of them have hair. Pilonidal sinus is also used to refer to the 'pilonidal cyst', particularly when it gets obstructed. The teratoma close to the body's surface might become a sinus or a fistula. There can also be a cluster. Sacrococcygeal Fistula is also used to refer to the pilonidal cyst - this is used for any dermal infection close to the tailbone that leads to a good deal of pain.

Differential Diagnosis

A pilonidal cyst is much similar to a dermoid cyst. The significant resemblance is in the presence of the Germ Cell Tumor. The right diagnosis at the right time is very important as surgery is the only solution in these cases. But the surgery should be conducted by a real good oncologist, as the excision should take place without any kind of spillage.

Endometrioma Cyst

It gets formed when tissues that look like the lining of the uterus attach themselves to the ovaries. They are also referred to as chocolate cysts.

Adenoma Cyst

When the cyst develops from the ovaries' outer surface this name is given to it. The largest tumour within us is the mucinous cyst adenomas. The Mucinous Cyst adenoma within the ovary may be as big as 149 kg or 328 lb. Mostly they are seen when the person is young and the tumours are unilateral. Though the alteration can happen, but it is quite rare. But since the potential remains, it is important to identify and treat them.

Mutinous cyst adenomas belong to asymptomatic cysts. But they are still there in women because of mass in the abdomen. Thus the gynaecologic test becomes important to identify them and find out the source of non specific abdominal complains. Suspicion must be maintained for pelvic pathology.

Polycystic Ovarian Cyst

Polycystic Ovarian Cysts occur due to the build up of 'Follicle Cysts', there by leading to the thickening of the ovaries. The ovaries tend to get enlarged and a thick covering gathers around the outer end thus leading to the prevention of ovulation. This paves the way to further fertility problems. Polycystic ovarian cyst is also known as PCOS.

Holistic approach

The holistic approach can cure all the above mentioned abnormal ovarian cysts most effectively. Actually, the holistic approach is much more than a medical cure. And since the approach is harmless, it is becoming increasingly popular in recent years. The holistic approach also makes a person strong both mentally and physically. There are many causes why cysts get formed and they can be hormonal imbalances, too much stress and even emotional problems and the holistic approach is so effective because it can not only balance but also improve the physical health and also the mental and emotional state of affairs. Regular exercise also helps. This is how this unique approach treats abnormal cysts in the ovary.
