Abhishek Kapoor - Bollywood Actor

Abhishek Kapoor is a Bollywood actor turned director. He is most known for writing and directing the film, ROCK ON!! (2008). Abhishek Kapoor started off as an actor with the Bollywood film, AASHIQUE MASTANE (1996), directed by Ajay Kashyap.

A comedy film where Abhishek plays Mohan, a slacker son of a wealthy businessman who least interested in studies and in his family business. So his father decides to send him to a retired Major in Manali in order to teach him some discipline and gather some work experience, to which Mohan reluctantly agrees.

But then, instead, Mohan sends his friend Sohan to impersonate him. What follows is an array of humorous events. The film, however, went unnoticed. Abhishek next starred in the film UFF! YEH MOHABBAT (1996), opposite Twinkle Khanna.

Directed by Vipin Handa, this romantic-family drama had Abhishek playing Raja, who falls for Sonia (Twinkle Khanna) during a college trip to Sikkim. But there an itch.

Raja college sweetheart Chiclet (Sadiya Siddiqui) gets enraged by their close association; and she schemes to break-up their relationship, to the extent that Raja gets arrested by the police and a lot more complications. UFF! YEH MOHABBAT (1996) failed miserably at the Box Office.

In SHIKAAR (2000) directed by Bobby Raj, Abhishek was cast alongside Ayesha Jhulka and Anupam Kher in this action thriller where he gets entangled in a murder case of an orphanage manager and then a policeman.

The film takes a turn when Vikram (Abhishek) denies those charges and states that he has been framed. SHIKAAR (2000) was the final release of Abhishek Kapoor as an actor. This film, too, was a miserable failure at the Box Office.

Abhishek Kapoor made his directorial debut with the film ARYAN: UNBREAKABLE (2006) with Sohail Khan and Sneha Ullal in the lead roles. The film is an action-drama about a boxer who dreams of winning the national championship. But his life takes a turn when he falls in love with a girl and settles down with her.

Eventually, the question of career or marriage arises. ARYAN: UNBREAKABLE (2006) was heavily delayed and when it finally did release, it failed to do well at the Box Office, despite a few good reviews.

Abhishek Kapoor soon found success as a filmmaker with ROCK ON!! (2008). ROCK ON!! (2008) marked the debut of director Farhan Akhtar as an actor and as a singer.

Abhishek Kapoor is in talks with author Chetan Bhagat to adapt his book The 3 Mistakes Of My Life onto the big screen which might be produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Abhishek Kapoor is the cousin of the highly successful television and film producer Ekta Kapoor and Bollywood actor Tusshar Kapoor. Abhishek has had a relationship with Bollywood actress Twinkle Khanna during the time of UFF! YEH MOHABBAT (1996). He also dated Bollywood actress Kim Sharma in 2009.

Abhishek is fondly called as Gattu by his close friends and relatives.
