A Woman's Car Insurance Nightmare And How It Cost Her Dearly

By:

For your reading pleasure: a woman's car insurance story and the dramatic consequences of having inadequate coverage.

Debbie is a great woman; she is independent, loyal, and hardworking. The same company has employed her for over ten years. She is ready to start a family and is dating a swell guy. Her friends are as impressed by Mr. Right as she is, and they often gather for drinks after work to discuss the men in their lives.

Debbie follows a set routine nearly everyday - she likes her comfortable routine, it suites her just fine. Then, as often happens to us, the unexpected strikes Debbie. She broadsides another vehicle on her way to work one fine morning. She missed the red traffic light and failed to stop, and now she has found herself with an at-fault ticket, a totaled car, and thankfully her injuries are minor. Her fellow motorist's injuries were also minor, but their car is totaled, too. With no hope of ever being driven again, both vehicles are towed away, and Debbie has found her predicament is worse than she thought.

She doesn't have adequate insurance coverage. Oh no! What now? Well, her coverage paid for the other persons car, but not her own. Now, her perfect life, with her perfect routine, is not so perfect. She is without a car, and she hadn't put any money away this year, so she's stuck with the option to finance or use public transportation. She's slightly afraid of riding in a bus, as she prefers the control she thinks she has when she's driving.
Now facing a financial dilemma, and with the bills growing tighter, Mr. Right isn't so sure about the relationship. He thinks Debbie should have planned better and carried more insurance, plus he thinks she should have had money in savings.

With a totaled car, a transportation dilemma, and being newly single, Debbie thinks her life seems a lot less perfect suddenly. Now, instead of discussing their boyfriends over drinks, Debbie and her friends are discussing car insurance and the evils of not having enough coverage.

Don't be like Debbie - she never checked on her policy, or coverage. She signed up for the cheapest car insurance she could get, never asked about the limits or coverage in the event of an accident, and never thought about it. She didn't think she would ever use her car insurance - she was a safe driver. But accidents happen to all of us. Make sure you have adequate insurance coverage - you don't want to experience this woman's car insurance nightmare!
