When I began the process of learning online marketing in the fall of 2008, I felt overwhelmed with the number of home business opportunities, and make money online programs that were available in various online forums. Furthermore, I was astonished at the pricing for programs offered by the proven "gurus", $1997 seemed to be the common demand for top mentoring programs, and many of those were just rehashed garbage, or recorded live seminars. The notion that if I could find someone, at an affordable price who had already established a proven marketing method, to provide me with mentoring, I would have truncated the time frame for establishing a profitable business. As I had determined the need to quickly learn the process of effective marketing online, I began my search for an affordable mentor.
Phase Two: Niche Identification
Once you have found an affordable mentor, the next thing that you need to do is identify a niche that is commercially friendly, and identify a product within that niche. Everyone likes the make money niche, myself included, because I have been fascinated with methods for creating revenue streams since I was a boy. However the make money niche is very difficult to penetrate in the online world in 2011. So instead of jumping on the make money bandwagon, it makes sense to identify a niche that has a high demand, and generates a large amount of searches and consumption, without an insurmountable competitive environment, where you can gain entrance to the first page of Google within a reasonable time frame, and get subscribers and sales.
It is true that it is not quite so easy, some of my pages have taken half a year to climb the search engine page rankings. That is why finding a product (or building one) that you believe in is so essential to your success, you need to maintain a positive frame of mind to do the work needed to reach your objective. So you will want to find products that you are personally excited about, you don't want to be associated with products that are of questionable value. You only have one reputation as an affiliate marketer, and you don't want to ruin it by promoting bad products.Paying heed to these two suggestions will help you to start your affiliate marketing career on the right foot. The proper start will ensure that you find the success you desire in affiliate marketing.It is best for you to avoid the "shiny object" syndrome that is a result of a constant stream of make money product launches, you are better off joining a membership site with mentoring, that will allow you to absorb the material at your own pace, and provides support to get you past sticking points, and alleviates confusion.
