Surfing at Puerto Escondido

The Mexican Pipeline or Puerto Escondido lures in the top surfers in the world, being one of the worlds best surfing destination. It hosts the Mexpipe Challenge in February and an international surf contest in November. Small and big waves alike are available for both professional and amateur surfers. Beach lovers can also take a pick from many beaches in Puerto Escondido excluding the Playa Zicatel which has strong rip tides and the worlds most powerful waves that are even stronger than the famous Hawaii Banzai Pipeline. This surfing spot is limited to very experienced surfers only as even the most professional surfers have met accidents that have placed them in wheelchairs for life. The Point is another popular surfing area with a rapid and tough surf ride. At the other end of the beach break is the Far Bar that has the most surfers since the water is deeper here compared to the other surfing spots and the break is quite far from the shore. Puerto Escondido is truly a surfers paradise and is best recommended for surfing lovers coming on their Mexico vacations.
