Las Ramblas is the most famous boulevard in Barcelona, the place where the essence and the true spirit of Barcelona is felt at every step. The boulevard is famous for the Betlem Church which displays both Gothic and Baroque architectural elements and for the La Boqueria Square (Mercado in Spanish). Las Ramblas finishes with the spectacular Port, which hosts the famous Colon Tower. If you climb all the stairs of the tower, you get a unique view of entire Barcelona. El Ensanche is one of the most spectacular parts of the city. The famous architect Cerda thought that the city should have a special part designated to the bourgeoisie, which finally led to a five times expansion of the city.

El Ensanche is famous and it deserves to be visited by all the tourists who come to the city because of the beauty of Antoni Gaudis works. I do not think there is a single person who visits Spain and especially Barcelona who has never heard about Antoni Gaudi and his spectacular, futuristic architectural works: the famous La Sagrada Familia, the picturesque Park Guell and the luxurious Guell Palace. Each one of them can be considered the masterpiece of Antoni Gaudis work; they are all so spectacular, so beautiful and so interesting that it is absolutely impossible to decide which one of them is the most important and representative.

The Montjuic Mountain is the one that guards over the city, making sure that it is protected and out of danger. A trip to the top of the mountain can be finished with a visit to the 17th century fortress that stands there, always waiting patiently for its visitors.

Other interesting places in Barcelona

Barcelona has a few more interesting places to visit; those who travel with their children should go to Tibidabo which hosts one of the biggest amusement parks not only in Spain, but in entire Europe. The Ciutadella Park is the place where you can relax and escape from the agitation of the city.
