This product holds 50 ounces of fresh water on its own. If you choose to purchase an addition reservoir with it it will hold up to one gallon of water. The fountain itself is structured in 3 levels. The water is pumped into the first bowl. He also mentioned that this fountain didn't make hardly any noice at all and the water flow is excellent. And since there are 3 blows if one bowl happens to get some debris inside of it, the cats can still drink from the other bowls. Finally he mentioned that this bowl holds a lot more water than most of the other products of this nature.
