A Quick Look Into The Negative Result Of Obesity

For the one who is overweight, there are lots of serious dangers to health and quality of life. The health costs of excessive weight in 2010 for the US is enormous and is well over 100 billion dollars per year. Needless to say a lot less is spent for weight loss products and solutions, but it is still in the billions annually. The US is slowly gaining more weight with each passing year, or so it appears. Of course the food and drink industry does not help things. There is undoubtedly no secret that a great number of foods include high sugar and fat content. We only have room to cover a few of the risks due to obesity.

One of the most serious repercussions of obesity is type 2 diabetes, and more new occurrences appear each year. In the past, type 2 diabetes generally developed in adults, but that has changed given that more teens are clinically obese. Obesity is known to cause insulin resistance which is important and a precursor to raised levels of blood glucose. There is little question that years of consuming high sugar content meals and beverages plays a substantial role. For years, various warnings have been made regarding the use of high fructose corn syrup in many soft drinks and other popular beverages. This mixture is much like extremely strong sugar and can send blood sugar levels soaring.

Other serious conditions which have been often seen involve damage to certain joints in the body. Obviously the bottom extremeties bear the greatest stress, and so it makes sense that obese people have hip and knee joint complications. Osteoarthritis is commonly seen in these conditions as well because of joint damage. Unfortunately the usual procedure of joint replacement is not always a viable option. While millions of people receive joint replacements, there is a greater chance for success with typical weight conditions. But for many who could benefit from it yet are obese, this is not always recommended. If a joint is replaced, what can typically occur are further side effects after the surgery. The joint that was changed may begin to be mechanically unsound that is certainly highly undesireable.

There is elevated risk for developing blood pressure complications when a person is obese. The problem with having so much weight is it significantly strains the entire body. The occurrence of so much fat is just a huge demand for oxygen that is furnished by the blood. So that therefore causes one's heart to work much harder so it can supply what is necessary. The basic net effect is to produce a condition of higher blood pressure. Another typical effect is a chronically greater heart rate caused by the higher workload required.

Obesity places your body in a risky state for a wide variety of health conditions. But our conversation here today is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all that is possible.
