A Mobile Home Furnace To Keep You Warm

By:

All the homes across the country naturally have some form of heating in them. This is no different when it comes to mobile homes.

Mobiles home furnaces provide heat to the residents, and they do this in a sort of unique way. The main types of fuels these furnaces use are fuel oil, or natural gas. A heat exchanger is the actual device which transfers the heat from the furnace to the still air in the home. These are commonly found in the heating units which are not electric.

A blower is normally the device which circulates the air around and over the heating exchanger. After which the heated air is disbursed throughout the home using what is called a duct system.

The type of duct system used in mobile homes is much different than the ones found in traditional homes. The majority of mobile homes have a no return air type of duct system. Using slots which are located in the furnace's access doors, air is sent to the blower. Commonly the filtering system can be found in the furnace doors. The furnace in a mobile home is usually built directly on above what is called the supply duct. A special piece of metal is called the duct connector, and this is what joins together the supply duct to the furnace outlet.

The standard type of duct system found in these homes is crafted from aluminum or light steel. Usually a duct runs for the full length of the entire trailer, and is commonly found in a single size. The simplest name for this system is what is called an extended plenum type of system. There are pieces called branch ducts which are attached to this system, and these are what send the treated air to each individual room in the mobile home furnace.

Devices called registers are what allow control of the air flow, and often have what is called a damper on them. These are the simplest of furnaces found in mobile homes.

Following are some representative prices for gas furnaces;

1. Williams 2203622 Direct-Vent Natural - $720.46
2. Williams 1403622 Direct-Vent Natural - $598.44
3. Rinnai ES38-N Direct Vent Wall Furnace - $!,599
4. Hamilton 96% Efficiency 2 Storage Gas - $1999.99
5. Hamilton 95.5% Efficiency - $1299.99

The climate where a mobile home is located is usually what determines whether the mobile home furnace uses gas, oil or electric for heat, although in some instances fuel prices may be the deciding factor.
