A Middle East Vacation

By:

It can be exciting to decide where to go on vacation. People choose vacation spots based on their interests and dreams. Traveling overseas is often a dream that is a bit more expensive so people save for years to travel abroad. The countries in another part of the world seem mysterious and they carry culture and history that we have only read about in books. One such place is the Middle East.

A Middle Eastern vacation is truly a dream for many people. The Nile River, Sphinx, Pharaohs and pyramids are subjects that we have only imagined. Taking a trip to this part of the world makes all of this, and more, a reality. 98% of the people in the Middle East speak Egyptian-Arabic. Unlike other countries that are modernized with most people speaking English, the Middle East has remained much the same as when their ancestors walked the earth. The history and culture of the culture is quite prominent and even overwhelming at times.

Possibilities are endless when one goes to the Middle East. Cruises down the Nile River are complete with dinner and sometimes an overnight stay. There are also camel rides through the paths between the pyramids. Old Cairo is filled with amazing landmarks while Egyptian history can be studied at one of their museums.

Many people get to Egypt a day before their tour begins. This gives them a day to relax and sleep off jet lag before the real sightseeing begins. Some travel agencies will have special pricing for that extra day do give people a time to rest before embarking upon the fun and excitement that lie ahead.

The climate in the Middle East is a desert climate with hot, dry summers and moderate winters. From morning to night, there is quite a difference in the temperature. It's a good idea to wear layers of clothing so you can add or remove clothing as needed. May is when summer begins and in November, the winter starts. Rain is only in the northern part of the country and it is light and sporadic showers.

Your travel pack should give you the exact locations and activities of your trip. For example, many people who vacation to the Middle East take time to also visit Jordan and Israel. The rich culture and history of these countries make them particularly appealing to tourists. Also, there are Nile Dinner Cruises that include shows, baptisms in the Jordan River, climbing up Mount Sinai and a Sound and Light Show at the pyramids.

Vacations to the Middle East are generally anywhere from four to eight days. Most people fly into the large Cairo International Airport where they are usually greeted by others in their tour group. After they are helped through immigration and customs, they are escorted to their hotels, where their journey will actually begin. You will enjoy the trip of a lifetime by vacationing in the amazing Middle East!
