A Magical Season In Budapest

As you can imagine, there are plenty of areas for tourists to visit no matter what the tourist in question might be into. There are plenty of hotels to stay at of course, but you may wish to try a vacation apartment instead.

Vacation apartments are rented out for the short term and they provide tourists with a decent place to stay for a set period of time. Naturally that time period can be extended, though in many cases the room is already rented for the next month. Let's talk about a few places you might visit in Budapest during the spring time.

In the year 869 AD a group of Magyar horsemen attacked and conquered Hungary. Statues of seven such horsemen are on display in Heroes Square, and you may feel free to visit there. In addition to that there are statues from later history, some of which date from as late as 1896. This is a place of history and memory, and is one place that should definitely be on your list.

Do you enjoy music? If so then you might take a look at the Budapest Opera House which features a neo-classical look, and of course a fairly cheaply priced performance. At the top of the opera house you will find some extremely cheap steep seats which will get you fairly close to the action.

The Children's Railway is a small wonder formally run by young socialist pioneers. They consist of little red trains that travel through the Buda Hills. Note that while children still man the trains, they are certainly not doing the driving, which is something that everyone can be thankful for. At the end of the day, why not sip a glass of fine wine, particularly Tokaji Aszi, one of Hungary's most popular wines. You can find this at the Gresham hotel, and you can enjoy your drink in an ornate lobby that features high end ceramic and classwork. While you might think the lobby is incredible, and rightly so, you should try actually staying there at some point to get the full effect. As you can see, there are more than a few reasons to visit Budapest, and once you take in it's beautiful cityscape and amazing populous, you might want to revisit this city again and again for many years to come. After all, who wouldn't want to taste that wine again, and again, and again?
