A Live Scan Opens Security Doors

By:

Do you live in southern California and want to work for an alarm company? Or maybe you would rather be a locksmith, a private investigator, or a security guard? Before you can earn a living with any of these occupations, you will need to submit your fingerprints through the Department of Justice (D. of J.) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (F.B.I.). The D. of J. and F.B.I. both use Live Scan in Los Angeles area to digitally scan your fingerprints to perform a background check. The following occupations require some effort to even apply, but job satisfaction and security are well worth it.

Alarm Company
To work for an alarm company, you must be at least 18 years old with some experience, and without a criminal history. The application can be obtained from a licensed alarm company operator, and the total application processing time can take up to half a year.

Locksmith Company
If you would like to be a locksmith, you must be at least 18 years old and have no criminal history. You will have to submit an application and name of the person who will run your business daily. You must create a name for your business, and send it in along with two passport quality photographs. Sometimes, the application process takes so long that the authorities give you a temporary permit which allows you to work for up to four months until your official license is complete. When you receive your license, it will be valid for two years.

Private Investigator
Hollywood has glamorized the life of a private investigator, or P.I., to be synonymous with wealth and excitement. However, in order to even apply for a P.I. license, you must have earned some sort of compensation while performing investigative work for an agency for at least 6,000 hours. Qualifying agencies include collection agencies, banks, or other P.I. agencies. A criminal law or police science college degree may take the place of some of this experience. As long as you have a concealed weapon permit and complete other F.B.I. courses, you can also carry a concealed weapon while on the job. If you do choose to carry, you will also be required to take out liability insurance.

Security Guard
Anyone over the age of 18 who has no criminal record may register to complete a required 40-hour training course. A private patrol operator or a certified training facility will then offer an examination to test your understanding. You may work for more than one company at a time while you are licensed, and once you are licensed, it will not expire for two years.

Of course, all these occupations in the southern California area are available only with appropriate applications and Live Scan from Los Angeles, signed by a Live Scan operator, and the $19 fee. If you have no criminal background, good work ethics, and determination, you may soon be working for yourself in an exciting new career.
