A Little More Information About The Aaa Rechargeable Technology

By:

The AAA rechargeable battery is quite a difficult name to pronounce. You can simply say "triple A batteries". These batteries have been a major cost-cutting solution to modern day energy demands for consumer household products. Since it was first introduced in the market AAA rechargeable technology has reduced battery production costs considerably and also helped in reducing environmental hazards which was otherwise a major threat, due to the use of dry-cell batteries and their massive disposal.

Reduction in production costs mean that manufacturers have to play by the rules of ANSI for safe and ethical battery production. Because very honestly no consumer wants AAA rechargeable batteries which dont fit right into their appliances and at the same time cause environmental hazards.

So, playing by the rules of ANSI (American National Standards Institution), and the rules they have adopted are some strict guidelines to abide by for these batteries manufacturers so no manufacturer fools around.

Some of these specifications and rules are:

AAA rechargeable batteries should measure nothing more than 44.5mm long and 10.5mm in cross-section.

AAA rechargeable battery should weigh nothing more than 14 15 grams each.

Also, the operating voltage of each rechargeable battery is less compared to standard non-rechargeable AAA batteries. That is 1.2 volts compared to 1.5 volts respectively. This is acceptable as rechargeable batteries are designed to last a life time and more than 500 charges. From the design point of view AAA rechargeable batteries are composed of a single chamber, hence they are also known as an electrochemical cell.

AAA rechargeable batteries are of two types: Ni-Cd (Nickel Cadmium) or Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride). Both these types are tested for bio-hazards are declared safe for consumer use. AAA rechargeable technology is used efficiently in household consumer electronic products due to modernization and efficient design of gadgets.
