A Guide To Dating

A Guide To Dating

By:

Dating can be a real eye-opener to many people, enlightening them as to their motivations for seeking out a possible mate. Many people treat dating as if it is some kind of game, others treat it as if it is an evil practice to be avoided at all costs until it is time to select a marriage partner.
Still others treat dating as a way to have one sexual encounter after another without really committing to anyone in particular. Whatever the motivation happens to be, there are many reasons to date. Surprisingly or not, however, there are not many people that actually know how to date.
Dating can be a fun way to have a new relationship. Many people choose dating in order to get their first taste of what a relationship can be like, allowing the rules of dating to serve as their virtual guide to learning how to act in a relationship and how the rules of dating impact the course of the relationship.
Within the general rules of dating, there exists a variety of protocols in terms of dealing with one another. While some of them can seem like common sense, others are up for some debate. Some of the issues up for debate are, the experience of the first kiss. Many scholars assert that the first kiss should take place after nothing less than three dates, while still others assert that the first kiss can take place at any time and in any location.
In many cultures, dating serves as a form of marriage preparation and in others it serves as a form of entertainment in which people date for years without commitment. The dating game is changing significantly every year and will continue to change for some time to come.
Nonetheless, for many people there still is a connection between dating and marriage. Some cultures reject the concept of any connection between dating and marriage. People in Indian culture or other Asian cultures believe in a concept called arranged marriage, which effectively rejects dating altogether. This saves the single person an awful lot of time by simply selecting a suitable mate from a proverbial pool of possibilities. An arranged marriage appears to be the easiest way possible to skip the arduous chore of actually having to impress someone and move directly on to the good stuff.
Dating is seen very differently in many international cultures. For many people in the Western culture, dating is a prospect that excites the youth of the countries and they cannot wait until they are old enough to date. Marriage, on the other hand, is considered settling down and many people view that as being undesirable and reserved for later years. In other cultures, dating seems to be taken as an unnecessary and simply social element that serves no purpose in getting someone ready for marriage. Instead, arranged marriages are the norm and people stay away from conventional dating.
