A Great Web To Print Seo Plan

By:

I was about to write off the tail end of The Office, Season 7, as a show that was ready to sink without the character of Michael Scott, but now I am rethinking that. The scripting is pretty funny, especially when it came to interviewing the management candidates. The best lines were from Will Arnetts character, who told the search committee that he had a 3-Part Plan for increasing profits, but could not say what it was. If you hire me, you get the plan, he told them. But he did agree to giving them part 3 of part 2. Good comedy writing. It made me laugh, but it also made me draw a parallel comparison between this and overall SEO advice. Truthfully, no SEO expert will divulge the entire SEO plan, because every SEO expert has had to learn what does work and what does not work the hard way, over months and years of efforts. Building up the right kind of traffic to a search optimized website requires continual, trackable, hard work and not many SEO pros are willing to have their know how be a completely open book. True, there are best practices that most of us know about and adhere to. Also true that most of our reward is the result of labor, and not because we know secrets that others do not. For my PrintSites customers, I spend a great deal of time creating a favorable search environment. In my new series for the PrintSites newsletter, I will begin sharing some of the parts of a great SEO Plan for web2print professionals. Please feel free to visit and sign up for our newsletter so you can catch all the parts. Of course, I cannot tell you the entire plan, but if you join PrintSites, you get the whole plan.

The first SEO tip I have for web to print providers is this: be sure your web site has back end fields for metadata. Metadata is data about other data. In other words, this bit of data tells the web crawlers what they will find on a particular web page. Webprint pros who have a web presence that they want found by online print customers through search, need to first be found by the web crawlers. They will index their pages in order to display them on a Google results page. At PrintSites, we build these metadata fields right in our free website designs, so that our users can optimize their new storefronts for great search results, with or without my SEO expertise.
