You might have recognized that whenever a new video game console comes out, that is what your children say they need to have. One of the very first games which became available was the Atari 2600 and it is a product that I still have and make use of every so often. I remember when I 1st received it on Christmas, and I used every waking hour actively playing those games. But the truth be told we tell our kids all the time to stop playing those games and go outside to get fresh air. And then after all that we usually get them the new game anyway so they will leave us alone. However we are going to provide you with a few reasons why you should stick with or get the playstation 2.

To begin with the playstation 2 is going to cost you a whole lot less money than if you were to get the playstation 3. For around $100, you will be able to get this from Amazon and they'll even ship it to you free of charge. The price of the ps3 is $300, which is a great deal more money. While the ps3 can actually play your DVD's, this doesn't seem to be worth the extra $200.

Many of you may be thinking that they really don't even make games for the playstation 2 nowadays. The reality is that Sony remains to be making new video game titles for this player, just not as many as they are doing for their ps3. But the other thing about the games is that you can actually find ps2 games for less than $10 and all the games for the ps3 are selling for anywhere from $20 to $50. I am not sure about you but I would like to get 5 ps2 games than merely one ps3 game.

Another reason why it is better to acquire the ps2 is because a lot of the games are generally older and your youngsters may have played them before. Because the games may be something they have played before, they may choose to go outside as the games are not as exciting anymore. This is something that may or may not happen, but it is definitely worth a try if it can get your kids outside. Of course, if you only purchase them a number of games for it, they will lose interest in time. But inevitably you will end up getting them new games from time to time but you will not be paying a fortune for them, like I said before you can get them for about $10.

While these are just my own opinion, these are generally pretty good reasons to buy the ps2. Truthfully, I ordered the playstation 3 when it first was released and finished up putting it on e bay to get rid of it. I then went back to my ps2 and have never wanted another gaming system since. If you do decide to get this unit, you may be able to come across it in a number of of the malls but you will see that it will normally be cheaper if you order it from Amazon. So to tell the truth, Amazon will be your best option if you wish to buy this.
