A Few Things You'll Probably Say As A Wimax Customer

By:

An internet connection is often advertised itself by listing the features it has, but that might not always be helpful. Sometimes you need a connection to be presented in a more personal way in order for you to fully understand the benefits it could have in store. Wimax is often advertised as being the future of internet connectivity, but do you envision it being something good for you? Here are a few things that you'll likely say about the service after you sign up for it, which could help put things in perspective.

1. It's so easy to setup, install and use. Unlike connections like cable and DSL, cellular internet doesn't require that you install anything at your home. Wires won't need to be run from the street and then through your home and your telephone line won't need to be adjusted to support broadband. Just like how you cell phone works now, all you'll need is a signal and you'll be able to start using the internet.

2. It's actually a lot faster than my old Wifi connection. Although people sometimes assume that Wifi and Wimax are both internet connections, Wifi actually isn't. All it does is connect computers together at your house without using wires. In other words, it needs to be supplied with internet connectivity. The reason why your Wifi might seem slower than your new cellular internet connection is that it could be using a slower connection in the background. Most people are subscribed to wired broadband solutions that feature between 3 and 5 megabits per second transfer rates while Wimax operates around 6 megabits per second. Ultimately, it is indeed possible to enjoy a faster overall browsing experience once you make the switch.

3. I can use the connection almost anywhere I want to. As long as you have signal to the network, anywhere is fair game. For example, you can expect to be able to use the service in your back yard, at your friend's place, at the coffee shop across town, at the park, and in the back of your car, just to name a few places. Most people aren't used to that kind of freedom but it's refreshing once they try it out.

4. I don't have to worry about data caps like my friends who are signed up for other cellular services. Wimax is currently the only cellular internet solution that doesn't enforce restrictive data caps. It could potentially change its policy in the future, but as it stands now it is the best one out there.

5. I actually end up paying less per month now with cellular internet. Although the internet plan itself might be more expensive, you won't have to pay for any additional services like cable TV or telephone land lines when you sign up. The same can't be said of cable and DSL. If you don't use either of those services all that much and don't want them anymore, you can switch over to Wimax and do away with them altogether. The sooner you sign up the sooner you can start saving.
