A Few Nail Fungus Treatment Suggestions

By:

There are lots of people who have nail fungus and it is actually a fact that over 12% of developed countries suffer from this condition. Since it is so common, it is not something you should be ashamed of and make sure to treat before it gets worse. As a matter of fact, we will be looking at various nail fungus treatment so that you can try them for yourself. These are all found to be quite effective, so make sure to read the entire article!

One of the first solutions that we will look at is a homemade solution that has proven to be quite effective over the long term. All you have to do is create a mixture of water and vinegar and let the affected areas soak in them for half an hour every night. You have to religiously do this for a few months until you see results, but you will see them. Basically, the mixture lowers the pH around your nail so that bacteria cannot survive and thrive there.

Another good method for treating nail infections is to soak them in Epsom salts every day. This also requires a commitment but is essential if you want to see your nails heal and become better. If you have swelling around the area, the Epsom salts will help to reduce this which can enable you to walk easier. This method, just like the previous vinegar method will also take a few months for the infection to be completely eliminated.

The other method we will look at includes changing your diet and the things that you eat. One of the best ways to fight and prevent fungal infections is to eat foods that have probiotics in them like yogurt. You should also avoid consuming foods like dairy and sugar which can help fungal infections to grow and propagate.

The next option we will look at includes using an item almost everyone has in their home. This is vapor rub and can be used to treat these infections quite effectively. However, you should note that it is not one hundred percent effective all of the time, but many people have found it to work extremely well. You have to wash the area and nail thoroughly and shave off any loose bits of nail. Then, wipe the area thoroughly and apply the rub into and around the nail.

However, even though there are numerous home treatments, you should also consider going to see a doctor if these solutions don't work or are not very effective. Your doctor will be best able to diagnose the problem and give the antibiotics you require. There are also many over the counter creams and solutions you can get, but be sure to get relevant medical advice first.

Lastly, prevention is always better then cure, therefore, you should always protect your feet and nails when you can. This means that whenever your feet get wet, make sure to always dry them thoroughly and you should never wear damp or wet socks and shoes. Also, it is better to wear socks made from cotton or wool as these tend to absorb moisture away from your feet.

Nail fungus treatment is essential once you contract this condition, so make sure to seek treatment as soon as possible. Early treatment and prevention is best, so make sure to keep these suggestions in mind.
