A Denture Cream Lawsuit: Do You Have Zinc Poisoning?

By:

If you have ever worn dentures, then you know how vital denture cream is in keeping your dentures in place. But did you also know it could lead to some extreme symptoms? Read on to get the facts before it is too late.

There are ongoing studies being performed regarding the toxicity of zinc oxide, the main ingredient in denture creams. While zinc is a natural part of our bodys chemical makeup, an excessive amount of zinc, like that found in the denture creams, may create a copper deficiency in your body. Among other things, this can lead to chronic weakness, loss of sensation, or numbness. Other common symptoms are numbness or tingling of the extremities, loss of ability to move the legs, feet, arms, or hands, poor balance, and a decreased walking stride.

If you have worn denture creams such as Poligrip and Fixodent in the past and are experiencing any one of these symptoms, or have been diagnosed with neuropathy, you have a right to be compensated for the suffering and the pain that you currently feel and have felt in the past.

If you feel you may be a victim of these products and their harm, please tell your physician. Usually the poisoning can be treated by ceasing the use of the denture cream, but in many cases the neurological damage was permanent and ceasing usage of the product only lead to mild improvement in the condition.

The symptoms can vary in severity from something barely noticeable to the unattentive adult, to the inability for the victim to be able to get around without a walker or wheelchair and evereywhere in between.

There has already been one successful lawsuit settled outside of court for an undisclosed amount, and there are many pending lawsuits against the companies GlaxoSmithKline.

Dont become a victim: if you feel you may have a condition that was spurred by this oversight, please contact an attorney specializing in denture cream lawsuits.
