A Corded Or Wireless Pc Mouse

By:

Computers have changed the very way we live our lives at home and at work. When you first start using a personal computer you get used to using it very quickly. You learn from the very start how to turn your computer on, use the keyboard, and adjust the screen. These are quite easy to learn at first, and then you start to learn how to use your mouse. The mouse if one of the most useful computer accessories to hit the market since it was first introduced in the lat nineteen eighties. One great evolution of the pc mouse is the introduction of the wireless mouse. Let us examine for a moment the difference between both a corded and wireless mouse for your home computing needs.

When you start shopping for a pc mouse you will see that they come in various sizes, shapes, and functionality. Some types of mice are built for large hands and they are much bigger than the standard size. They also come in very small sizes that are designed to used with the micro lap tops that are available today. You will also see some mice have fancy lights and buttons on them that may or may not improve their performance. Probably the biggest decision to make is whether or not you want a corded mouse or a wireless mouse.

A mouse that uses a cord, or wire, is the very first type that was introduced to the PC market back in the nineteen eighties. This type of mouse can connect to the back of your computer in a special connection, or lately you will see these able to connect to a USB port. These wireless pc mice come with a small transmitter inside of them and the receiver is encoded within the USB device. Every movement of the mouse, and every button click, is transmitted from the mouse to your computer. Every wireless mouse will have a distance rating, and this will be the maximum distance the mouse can be from the computer and still work properly. A wireless mouse is very popular as it has no cord to deal with and restrict the mouse while you are moving it. Also, there are less cables attached to your computer which makes your desk and work area less cluttered. One drawback to consider is that a wireless mouse needs batteries to operate, so you should make sure you keep some spare batteries in or near you desk. The more you use the wireless mouse the faster the batteries will drain down and the more you will need to replace the batteries. Another thing to consider when shopping for a mouse is that a cordless type mouse will always be much more expensive than a wired mouse.

This is one really nice thing with a corded mouse is that it always has a power supply connected to it, and it will never need batteries. This type of pc mouse will always stay on and be usable so long as your computer is turned on and powered up. A corded mouse is also much cheaper than a wireless version, and you can usually pick one up for less than ten dollars. I can not really prove this, but it seems from my own experience that a corded mouse will keep on working for a very long time. I have noticed that some of my wireless pc mouse units have not always been that durable, and they need to be replaced every few years.

The next time you are looking for computing peripherals you might want to consider purchasing a new pc mouse.
