The Palm Pre is a phone which is great for organising your life. Your Google, Facebook and Microsoft outlook calendars are pulled together along with contacts from various points of supply. Notifications, calendar entries and text messages appear subtly at the bottom of the screen without any interruption. This allows you to respond as and when you wish.

The Pre has an impressive 3.1 Inch touch screen with a 24-bit colour 320x480 resolution HVGA display. WebOS makes navigation very easy and fast. Open applications can be moved around the display like cards, allowing you to have multiple applications open at any one time. For easy emailing and texting there is a slide out physical QWERTY keyboard. The Pre incorporates a 3 megapixel camera with built in flash, geotagging and extended depth of field which extends the distance in which objects are in focus.

The Palm Pre is an attractive black phone which weighs in at 135 grams (4.76 ounces). Dimensions are 59.5mm (2.3 inches) in width, 100.5mm (3.9 inches) in height and a thickness of 16.95mm (0.67 inches). It comes with a Touchstone charging dock which is a magnetic inductive charger. The Touchstone plugs into the wall and the Pre simply sits on it and wirelessly charges the phone. The Pre provides and 8GB memory with USB mass storage support giving up to 5 hours talk time and 300 hours standby time.

Features include a layered calendar which incorporates your contacts. Your Google, Facebook and Microsoft Outlook calendars are brought together using Palm Synergy. Multiple applications can be kept open and it is very easy to move from one to another. They can be thrown off screen if you have finished with them, moved and flipped around. Calendar appointments and text message Notifications appear at the bottom of the 3.1 inch screen.
The combined messaging feature on the Palm Pre is great. conversations are grouped together even if there is a mixture of texts and instant messages. You can also see who is online from your contacts and with one touch a new conversation can be started. To search your applications and contacts just simply start typing. Google search is offered if the information you are searching for is not on the phone. The Pre has a 3G speed browser, so you can find exactly what you're searching for in no time at all. The phone is GPS enabled and has built in Wi-Fi.

In conclusion Palm has created a comprehensive phone and includes many great features, with software that is powerful and very easy to use. The Pre will appeal to many as it syncs with iTunes, its interface is user friendly and meets the needs of both business people and consumers. However, there is no slot for a memory card and the phone only provides 8GB of storage. The slide out physical QWERTY keyboard is also very cramped.
