Whale Watching in Mexico

The sight of whales frolic playing or cavorting or even just plainly swimming in the waters never fails to evoke a sense of admiration and marvel. Gray whales migrate annually every fall from the cold waters of Northern Bering to the Sea of Cortez to give birth and spend winter months in the warm waters of the Pacific that are rich with food. The best place in Mexico to watch these huge but gentle whales with their calves is Magdalena Bay just off the coast of Los Cabos. San Ignacio is equally as famous for whale watching but there is a higher possibility of seeing the whales in Los Cabos than any other location in Baja especially during the peak season from the end of December to the end of March. Strict guidelines are followed during whale watching tours so that the whales are protected. When planning your Mexico vacation, dont fail to include whale watching in your itinerary.

Colorful Marine World of Mexico

There are a lot of diving options for diving professionals and amateur who want to explore the rich marine life of Mexico. You can opt to go diving in the Pacific Ocean on the west coast, on the Caribbean Sea side, the unique cenote or sinkhole cave or at the second largest reef in the world or the Great Maya Barrier Reef. The cities of Cozumel, Cancun and Puerto Vallarta provide very good diving spots too. Cozumel has coastline reefs and intricate underwater landscape with dramatic cliffs, canyons and colorful plants that makes it so popular among divers. Cancun on the other hand gives a choice of either the shallow and colorful reefs of Playa del Carmen or Chinchorro Banks which gives access to the Great Maya Barrier Reef. Another popular scuba destination is Puerto Vallarta with its nearby islands and bays with added bonus of whale sharks, dolphins, sea turtles and a multitude of tropical fish. Other diving spots in Cabo San Lucas and La Paz is a visual display of the colorful marine world.
