9 Steps To Your Own Home Gym

By:

There are three types of home gyms: Open floor space, Cardio equipment home gym, and a resistance training gym. Of course there is a combination home gym of the three.

Now that you're clear about the type of home gyms you can build, it's time to take action.

1. Choose, generally, the kind of home gym of the 3 types set out above.

2. Set a budget. What is the amount you can spend on your home gym. What's great about a home gym is you can add to it later.

3. Write out the dimensions of your workout space. Some workout equipment is big. Be sure what you buy will fit.

4. Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize. Write your list of the most important gym equipment to get started.

5. Start researching the types of equipment you have on your list. If you have a treadmill on your list, you'll be amazed how many treadmills are available. Quality online fitness equipment reviews are a great starting point because they centralize the information for you.

6. Be flexible. You might discover some new equipment you never heard about that will suit you better. Be prepared to revise your list.

7. Figure in the shipping costs when you research. Shipping can range from $0 to $300 or more per item.

8. Are you prepared to put your gym equipment together yourself? Does assembling product purchases drive you crazy? If so, budget for assembly and save yourself the hassle.

9. Do the final preparations on your workout space so you are all set to go when your equipment shows up at your home.

Building a home gym is fun and if you get equipment and create a space you like, you'll enjoy working out at home for years. You can always keep adding to it.
