There are many reasons why you should go for building your own PC and some of them are discussed below.
Flexible case design : Retail (branded) PC comes with the desktop cases which are much alluring with short heights and many features but they have not enough room to fit extra accessories such as video cards and do not provide proper airflow without free drive bays. With the cases such as cooler master or anything alike, you wont face this problem.
Strong power supply : Some of the power supply units present in retail PCs come in 250 300 watt range are not able to power even a normal video card and you cant play high resolution games. Instead, an aftermarket PSU with a correct video card will not have such problems.
Proper motherboard versions : It is not easy to know which motherboard is installed inside a retail PC before you actually buy it and if it is from a vendor who is not able to provide proper technical support or the required driver, it becomes painful in case of any problem and you have to depend on the vendor of the PC. You can go for a motherboard designed for standalone; you will not face such problems.
Quality parts to choose yourself : Retail PC may come with a famed brand logo but you never know which vendors have supplied the rest of the parts like the memory chip, CPU, Hard drive and so on. You need to choose your own parts and this way you will know what you are getting.
No bloatware : Blotware pollutes the operating system installation disc which comes with the retail PCs. Sometimes the OS files come as preloaded on a separate partition of the hard drive but in case the hard drive fails, you will have to uninstall those corrupt applications in order to maintain the computers performance. You should install your OS from an original OEM disc to ensure a clean and fast install always.
Consistent support facility : Having a retail PC means you will have to rely on whatever supports the vendor provides. By buying a retail PC you will get one centralized support for the whole PC which is not feasible but in case of own built PC, you can replace the malfunctioning component of your own with the help of an
online tech support.
Upgrade as and when required : If you add some component to your retail PC from different sources, the company will not honor the warranty as promised if a problem persists and upgrading the retail PC after you buy becomes very difficult within the warranty period but building own PC helps as you can add whatever you want whenever providing your budget allows it.
Building a PC is cool : You will invite a lot of frustration if you go for a retail PC but by building your own PC, you can have quality parts which is a fun and a process of enjoyment.
