Compared to other parts of our bodies, belly fat tends to be the most stubborn and so, is difficult to lose. The major reason for fat accumulation around the stomach region is carbohydrates and fat depositions in the body. Weight loss is great, but what most people really want when they are trying to lose weight is to get rid of fat. Because while it would be nice to weigh less, if you are looking for a way to improve your looks, your health, your sexual appeal, or even your athletic performance it is more about less fat then less weight.

You will often find that the "hunger pangs" go away as you quench your thirst. 4. Strength training is an essential part of burning fat. Building up your lean muscle mass will help increase your metabolism and burn more calories when your body is at rest. That is a sure way for you to quit the diet out of frustration and boredom. Break things up by using different ingredients every time. If you find this is too limiting, try a normal lunch and then go back to it the next day.

6. Steer clear of empty calories when trying to lose belly fat. These are found in alcohol and fizzy drinks. They have no nutritional value and will play havoc with your plan for firm abs. Having some self control and learning to say no to some of your favorite foods will help you lose tummy fat. We can all fall in bad habits such as having biscuits every time we have a cup of tea. Cutting out these small snacks will help to reduce your overall calorie intake and thus help you to drop pounds.

7. Another place to improve is to limit white carbs, switching to whole grains can have a very positive effect on your diet. Also switching to all natural foods as an alternative to over processed junk can be a great way to improve your health. If you have a craving for something sweet try a fruit instead of a candy bar. But, if you have to splurge the most important thing is to moderate your portion size and don't over indulge.
