6 Reasons To Become An Entrepreneur

By:

1. Passion - Human beings were meant to work. We were meant to achieve great things and provide value to society. We were not, however, meant to do this from a cubicle. Deep down we all would like to be productive and feel accomplished but it is very hard to do when you are not passionate about the work you are doing. Working for someone else is most often not the way to work towards your passion. Often you end up working towards someone else's goals and someone else's dreams. How are you going to discover your passion in life when you are working someone else's? The most successful entrepreneurs and businessmen always share one common attribute. They love what they do. They couldn't imagine waking up everyday and doing anything but that. So take some time to yourself and figure out what you are passionate about. Maybe you love windsurfing, or tending a garden or anythingFigure out what it is that you are passionate about and work at it. If you don't give up, which you won't, because of your deep passion, then you will eventually be able to make money doing what you love to do.

2. Freedom - freedom can be defined in so many different ways. I'll start with the most general. The ability to do whatever you want. If you want to go and feed the ducks all day, then have at it, but this will most likely not move your business forward. If you followed my first piece of advice, then you have chosen something that you are passionate about to model your business around. If you have done this properly, then when you work on your business, you are always working towards something that you want to be doing. Another beauty of entrepreneurship is the ability to outsource the activities that you do not want to take care of. This way you can solely focus on whatever you are passionate about and hire experts to do the rest.

3. Time Freedom - There is not time clock to punch when you are an entrepreneur. And if you position yourself correctly, then you can have time for it all. After you have outsourced the unpleasant activities, then you can focus several hours a day on your key activities, and hit the ski slopes the rest of the day. Or the golf course; of your son's baseball practiceor whatever you want!!! Some people I know are their most productive between 10pm and 1am. If you want to be a night owl then you can.

4. Relationship Freedom - This is one of my favorites. At your current job, you probably have co-workers, bosses, or customers that you'd rather never see again. You have to see them and talk to them all day long. You wake up to their e-mails in the morning and you have to see them during office parties during evenings and holidays. When you are an entrepreneur, you can choose your business partners and weed out the customers that only you find most profitable and fulfilling. At the end of the day this leaves more time for your family and the people that matter most to you.

5. Mobility - As an entrepreneur you are never chained to your desk. You have to option to come and go as you please. If you are smart about it, you will make all of your operations mobile. You should be able to manage and oversee all activities from your laptop and cell phone. One of my favorite things to do is travel. In the past couple months I have had extended trips to Europe and the Caribbean, all while operating my business from the computer. If you run all of your calls through the internet, or outsource them, then you don't even have to worry about a phone. I used google phone to contact customers and partners in Italy, Egypt, the United States, and Asia, all while relaxing in the Bahamas. It doesn't get much better than this. If you don't like to travel that's fine too. I'm sure you can find some other place you'd rather be than your desk. Well here's the opportunity to take things mobile.

6. Your Bank Account - Any successful and fulfilled businessperson will tell you they don't do it for the money. And that's true. You need to love what you're doing to be successful at it. But even if you don't like fancy things, you still need a place to live, a car to drive and food on the table. Wouldn't it be nice if you were rewarded for all your efforts properly. As the owner you will have the ability to cut your own checks. Just don't forget to save some and reinvest in your business. And the more passionate you are, the harder you will probably work which will turn into more money in your bank account.

Well there you have it folksIf those aren't six compelling reasons to become an entrepreneur and be your own boss today, then I don't know what is. I've had the the opportunity to make my dreams come true with a little passion, effort and some luck.
