6 On-site Tips To Seo Your Website

By:

If you want to optimize your website so that search engines will discover it and rank it, you must do some optimizing onsite. This is where the real work of SEO should begin, as you have more control over onsite SEO than you do offsite, where people can delete your comments, nofollow your links, and not share your posts. Try these 10 things on site for search engine optimization.

1. Keyword Rich URL: If you're targeting a particularly keyword, you are more likely to appear on the top of search engine results pages (SERPs) if you have a keyword rich URL. For example, if you're targeting "deviled eggs", you'd want to have a URL like deviledeggs.com or deviled-eggs.org, as this will rank higher than a site whose URL is not related.

2. Title Tag: The title tag is really important, as it tells search engines what your website is about. This is the clickable text in SERPs. Be sure to include keywords and your website name in the title tag.

3. Meta Keywords and Description: Search engines take into account keywords and description to know what your website or webpage is about. In the meta keywords, you should put keywords you would like your site to come up for. In the description, a brief explanation of what a browser can find will if they click through to your page.

4. Image ALT Tags: Image ALT tags describe what your graphic is. If you have a picture of a white rose, your image ALT tag should read "white rose". Your image can then come up in image searches.

5. Keyword Density: Repetition can let people and search engines know what your website is about. Mentioned a keyword one time probably won't get your website ranked. Keyword density is a ratio of how many times the keyword is mentioned in your text. A keyword density of between 3-5% is ideal, so if you have 500 words on a page, aim to repeat your keyword no more than 25 times. Try using variation of the word as well.

6. Publish regularly: In order for search engines to continually index the pages of your website, be sure to create a publishing schedule where you have new content frequently. Search engine spiders will crawl your page more often if you have new content.

Ranking without these important onsite SEO techniques is rare, so be sure to increase your changes by ensuring your keywords can be found in your URL, title, meta tags, and throughout the text.
