5 Ways To Stay Organized With A Club Website

By:

Being a member of any club is generally fun and fulfilling. But wait till youre put in a position where you have to manage a club. Thats when things starting get less fun and more problematic. Dont wait for that to happen. Build a club website and youll still get to enjoy your time, no matter what your role is.

If youre interested in using a club website for your organization, heres what you should do.

1. Build a website
Make sure that it contains all the necessary information for new, old, and prospective members. Make sure that you also have someone responsible for regularly updating its content.

2. Require members to sign up for an account
A club website will be more effective if its membership-based. This way, youll be able to interact with your members at a better and more secure level. In general, people who simply visit a website are allowed to post comments which may even be subjected to the website managements approval before it can be published and nothing else.

Those with accounts, however, can do a lot more. Depending on your preferences, you can authorize them to view contact information of other members, send private messages to each other, and upload files in their profile pages.

Having members sign up for an account will also be to your benefit. As website administrator, you have the means of monitoring their online activity. Youll know which members are the most active in which areas.

3. Collect fees online
Collecting membership dues, participation fees for workshops, and all other payments required from your club members can give you a terrible headache if youll have to do it in person.

Having a website, however, can make payment collection instantly hassle-free. Firstly, you can sign up for the necessary software that would allow you to receive money online. You could also have it done via Paypal or you could accept credit card payments. You may also try setting up an account from any online bank.

You can configure your website to determine which members have not yet paid and email them notices or reminders for their balances.

4. Get everyone involved
Club officers need not shoulder the burden of hosting important events alone. Use the website to assign the appropriate tasks to other members. With a project management software program or something similar, you could monitor each and every members progress and provide additional support whenever necessary.

5. Recruit
Finally, dont forget to use your club website to recruit for more members. The more, the merrier as they say!
