I am not a guru of cooking, but having grown up in the kitchen and a family restaurant, I feel I know my fair share. But before you start talking about why we must organize our kitchen, first LETS brush on the importance of time and food. Yes, they are highly correlated.

As the years pass, things continue to evolve more. Age now allows us the restaurant's growing fast food. I know some people who simply could not function without a fast-food restaurant, do not you? But lets be honest, it is ridiculously easy and favorable weather, and partly too fat and unhealthy. One must eat well, is a law of life that can not be avoided.

Our society has really become very fast and many people simply do not have time to cook a balanced meal, but why is this? Admittedly, it takes time to cook a meal, but lets see what we can do to organize your kitchen to reduce your cooking time and increase time for anything else.

1. Keep things clean and neat.
a. This will help you know what you have and do not possess. This alone saves tons of time in the kitchen and the grocery store.
b. This will help you be able to make and work better in your kitchen. Everyone wants to work in a clean environment.

2. Plan your meals for the week.
a. This may sound long, but it does not take long to make some dinners that you eat for the week and you will save time in the future.
b. Preparing food in advance will also provide more time in the future. This can also add more flavor to your dishes if you're seasoning or marinade. :-)

3. Do your shopping for the week and be done with.
a. Be ready! Make your list and check it and take care of business. Doing this in advance and do not play guessing you will save much time.

4. Keep it simple.
a. Do not try to be a gourmet chef. Creating a quick and simple meal is much healthier than give up and resort to fast food. Less is always more.
b. There is nothing wrong with gathering complex meal, but just make sure you plan accordingly.

5. One step ahead of your kitchen!
a. Yeah I said! Is it wise? Plan ahead, plan, prepare for the future. Do not walk in your kitchen without a plan of action. Know what you want done, know what is inside, run and eat.

Check your kitchen, do not let it control you. Keep in mind that organizing your kitchen forces you to organize it. Eat healthier, save time and build a stronger body, three things you can not beat.
